April 08, 2013 Energy Air Share this post The Energy Air team recently completed the installation of a new chilled water air handling unit and associated components at South Seminole Hospital for Hardin Construction Company, LLC. Our scope for this AHCA-inspected job included the installation of one chilled water rooftop unit that took the place of three existing air handlers. We were required to get the new system up and running without interruption to the hospital. Since we couldn’t shut down all three units at once, we had to shut down one at a time and then slowly bring on the new unit. While we were set up and ready to disconnect the first unit, the motor unfortunately went out in the third unit. It was definitely time to replace it! The hospital requested that we get the new unit up and running a couple days ahead of schedule due to this new circumstance. Our team went above and beyond. They completed each of the three shut downs in a two-hour timeframe. Working without a break from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., they were able to reroute the ductwork and get the new unit up and running. Because of the dedication of this team, the new air handler was up and running two days ahead of schedule, and the third air handler switch over happened one week ahead of schedule.
