July 15, 2014 energyair Share this post Working in collaboration with the design team, we recently completed the mechanical design for a tenant improvement for TriQuint Semiconductor in Apopka, Fla. Once the design was complete, our construction team got to work on the HVAC scope for this class 10 clean room, which includes installation of a custom Hawkon RTU and the creation of a concealed room through the use of sensible cooling coils and metal to the deck. This particular concealed room is a room within a room, where the erect walls are raised above the ground by three inches. Chilled water sensible cooling coils are placed on top of the walls and fan filter units at the ceiling. The fan filter units push cool air into the space pulling through the sensible cooling coils and conditioning the space. We are also installing FM-rated FRP duct, which requires a 12-step installation process, to accommodate the acid exhaust. Once complete, the installed mechanical value will be approximately $152,000.
