April 09, 2014 energyair Share this post Construction of the HVAC system is progressing for the Energy Air team at Shingle Creek Elementary School. We were contracted by Walbridge Construction Company to complete the HVAC system installation for the 81,355-square-foot school replacement. The building includes 255 tons of cooling provided by two air-cooled chillers, six chilled-water air handlers, three split systems, variable air volume boxes and associated equipment. The original school, which was torn down to accommodate a new building that will support the county’s move toward digital learning, was originally built in 1992. The two-story facility will include classrooms, a multipurpose cafeteria, administration space, art rooms, music facilities, computer labs, separate parent and bus drop-off loops, and outdoor activity areas with covered play space. Energy Air started construction in October 2013 and anticipates being complete in June. The county is planning for students to start classes in August. We are also completing the HVAC scope of work for John Young Elementary School, an identical building less than 10 miles from this location.
