Considering the purchase of a new air conditioning unit? You’ll want to take into consideration several factors as you explore systems. Read on to learn about the benefits and limitations of Comfort™ Series Air Conditioners:
Factor #1. Consider Noise Levels
One of the first things you’ll notice about the Comfort™ Series Air Conditioner family is that the units are fairly quiet — with most models emitting the noise equivalent to a hair dryer. Considering that this unit will sit outside, you’re not likely to hear much from it when you’re inside your house.
Factor #2. Note the SEER Rating
Comfort™ Series Air Conditioners have a SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) — the metric used to rate the efficiency of air conditioners across the board — of between 14 and 16 out of the highest rating of 23. The higher the SEER rating, the more energy efficient the model is considered to be, so this is a family of air conditioners with an above average rating.
Factor #3. Installation Restrictions
The U.S. Department of Energy sets minimum efficiency standards for certain air conditioning units. These standards went into effect Jan. 1, 2015, so check with your installation professional to see if your area meets those minimum standards. Some parts of the South do not meet the minimum standards for Comfort™ Series Air Conditioners.
