Top 5 Spring Things to Do in Central Florida

Updated: Feb 10, 2023

The spring season is a beautiful time of year in Central Florida, and there are a number of great reasons to get outside and enjoy your surroundings. Whether you’re a native or just visiting, here are five of the top things to do throughout the Central Florida region this spring.

Orlando on Map

1. Visit an Orlando Theme Park

If you’ve never been, then you owe it to yourself to visit Walt Disney World, which includes the Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and many other attractions. For those who have been and want to experience something else, other nearby options include Busch Gardens Tampa and SeaWorld Orlando, or if you’re looking to cool down at a waterpark we suggest Aquatica or Adventure Island.

2. Take a Walk on the Wild Side

If animals are your thing, then take a walk on the wild side at one of the area’s zoos or animal rescue habitats. Some local favorites are the Big Cat Rescue in Tampa, Lowry Park Zoo also in Tampa, and the Animal Kingdom in Orlando.

3. Enjoy the Natural Florida Springs

Central Florida is home to more than 700 springs. Some of the most popular options include Blue Springs, Silver Springs and Rainbow Springs. These destinations offer chances to relax as well as opportunities to see the wildlife that lives in and around these springs.

4. Explore the EcoSafaris

This region boasts a number of excited guided adventures, such as the Horseback Safari or even the Zipline Safari. Each tour takes you through a unique landscape that boasts a wide range of different geographical features, flora and fauna.

Blue Springs is a second-magnitude spring producing approximately 40 million gallons of fresh clean spring water each day.

Man With Crocodile

5. Trek through Gatorland

Gatorland offers more than 110 acres of natural habitat and a real Florida experience. The area is populated with many male and female alligators, and you can enjoy a bird’s eye view or even walk through a cypress swamp.

Gatorland showcases thousands of alligators and crocodiles, including four rare “white” alligators. In addition to gators and crocs, the amusement park has a petting zoo, unique animal shows, a natural alligator breeding marsh and more.

For thrill seekers, Gatorland offers the Screamin’ Gator Zip Line where visitors can clip in and zip off an exciting 1,200 foot-long zip line. At over seven stories tall, the amazing towers feature multiple launch pads and breathtaking views high above the treetops.
